What to do on an LGBTIQ+ Wednesday or Thursday in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires' gay week doesn't start on Friday. After Miércoles and After Jueves at FEL!ZA: cineclubs, karaoke, DJ sets and happy hour from 8pm.

Going out on a Wednesday or Thursday in Buenos Aires has a different feel: fewer people, more conversation, and the sense that the week gets split in half. For the LGBTIQ+ community there are venues that open midweek with their own programming, not a half-empty club waiting for Saturday.

The midweek plan exists, you just need to know where

Most of the city's gay nightlife is concentrated on Friday and Saturday. But an LGBTIQ+ cultural center like FEL!ZA, at Av. Córdoba 3271, opens Wednesday through Sunday from 8pm — and Wednesdays and Thursdays have their own night: After Miércoles and After Jueves. Cineclubs, karaoke, games, DJ sets, workshops and the bar open, in a place where everyone is part of the community or there to support it.

What a Wednesday or Thursday at FEL!ZA feels like

The night starts early, at 8pm, with happy hour until 10pm. That's the time to show up with friends, play something in the patio or settle into a room for a cineclub screening. Later it picks up: some nights have a DJ in the booth, others a drag karaoke, others a one-off event of the week. The point is you can walk in without a plan and build one there.

The lineup changes every week. Before heading out, check FEL!ZA's agenda: it lists what's on each night, with time and room.

Why starting your LGBTIQ+ week on a Wednesday makes sense

If you just arrived in Buenos Aires or want to meet people without the weekend noise, Wednesday and Thursday are the best way in. There's room to talk.
