LGBTIQ+ courses and workshops in Buenos Aires: queer boxing, drag, tango and more

Queer boxing, drag, bachata, queer tango, yoga, creative sewing: the workshops at FEL!ZA, how to sign up and what to do if you want to teach your own course.

Learning something new in an LGBTIQ+ space changes the whole experience: you don't have to explain who you are, you don't have to measure how you dress, and the people next to you came for the same reason. In Buenos Aires there are workshops designed that way, and FEL!ZA gathers several under one roof.

Which workshops FEL!ZA offers

The lineup changes with the season, but some workshops are already part of the house: queer boxing, drag, bachata, queer tango, yoga and body expression, creative sewing. Each one has its teacher, day and time, and classes happen in the rooms of the cultural center at Av. Córdoba 3271 — the same place where later there are cineclubs, karaoke and parties.

  • Queer boxing — serious training, without the traditional gym atmosphere.
  • Drag — makeup, persona and stage, for those starting out or polishing what they already do.
  • Queer tango and bachata — partner dancing without fixed gender roles.
  • Yoga and body expression, creative sewing — to slow down and work with your hands.

How to sign up and what it costs

Each workshop has its own page on felizarcoiris.com with the time slots, available spots and the prices set by the teacher. You sign up online, directly in the slot that works for you, and after the workshop the house stays open: anyone taking a course gets 2-for-1 vermouth to stay and chat with the group.

If you want to teach a course, there's room too

FEL!ZA has seven rooms rented by the hour for classes, Wednesday through Sunday. Anyone who wants to teach a workshop pitches the idea, agrees on a day and time, and promotes it with the support of the venue's community. Proposals go through the teach-a-class page.
